Overview:
- Many fully electric vehicles have their high voltage battery mounted low down under the floor pan of the vehicle. The battery case is intended to be & sealed & from the elements to prevent
water ingress, should the vehicle drive through deep water for example. - To ensure the battery case is correctly sealed the manufacturers recommend an "integrity test"
which is a pressure test to check for leaks in the battery case seals, particularly the large top seal that runs around the edge of the battery case.
- The pressure is very low and must be introduced slowly to prevent any internal battery cell pack damage.
- The pressures vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but are usually between 20 - 50 Millibar (0.8psi max).
- The KANE-EVBPT kit has been developed to allow a suitably qualified technician to pressure
test these batteries in a safe and controlled manner. - Warning: Always adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications, and never exceed the maximum recommended pressure.
- OE Approved Applications:
- Hyundai Kona EV
- Jaguar I-Pace
- Kia Niro EV
- Nissan Leaf.
- Supplied with a digital manometer (pressure gauge) for accurate readings, and with foot pump and adaptors.
- Always ensure all battery breather and electrical connection ports are sealed (sealing tape included).
